the "straight" reissue of her Smash album "Back to soul" which was originally released in '64, includes her own versions of several soul hits,some originals, plus nice duet with Bobby Byrd, why not include "If somebody told you" or instrumental version of "Baby, baby, baby" which were only on singles?

there's too many "sweet soul ballads" compilation recently but this album is one of the best of them, wisely chosen 22 tracks from obscure 45 rpm records in '70s, emotional lead singers with harmonies on every tracks, no liner notes

subtitled as "Okeh uptown soul 1962 - 1966", yes this is the first reissue album of Ted's Okeh 45s, recorded in New York and Nashville from mid '60s, more "soulful" style than Clyde McPhatter or Little Willie John with his own high-tenor voice, informative liner notes
