Tyrone Burwell was born on December 14, 1949, and grew up in Henderson,
N.C. He was taught by his mother the principal of God's Word.
At a very early age, Tyrone showed his talent for music. His powerful voice
was so rich and beautiful that it deeply touched people, who found pleasure
in listening to his songs. In those days, he loved the music of James Brown,
Temptations, Gladys Knight, Bobby Womack, and Isley Brothers.
As a teen, Tyrone would compete in high school talent shows against people like Gerald Alston, born and raised in Henderson and now the lead singer of the Manhattans. Even though Gerald would win the talent shows, there was no doubt that Tyrone's exceptional gift of singing would lead him to his destiny as a professional singer.
After completing his service for the military, Tyrone returned home from
Vietnam in 1973, then he moved to Raleigh, N.C., and began his singing
career. Tyrone started an R&B group called the Authentiks Unlimited,
and from 1973 to 1982, the group shared the stage with great talents such
as The Temptations, Stephanie Mills, the Manhattans, Johnny Taylor, and
many more. |

His latest CD, "Heaven Bound", includes 4 tracks. "Let
Him In" is an upbeat song. The highlight of this CD, "Call On Jesus" is a massive and soulful ballad, and demonstration of Tyrone's powerful
