Interview with Terrence Forsythe...
-When is your birth date?
I was born March 13, 1958 in Detroit Michigan home of the Motown Sound.
-What did you grow up listening to?
I grew up listening to Gospel and the Motown Sound. The Temptations, Stevie
Wonder, The Spinners,The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, The Mighty Clouds of Joy,
Reverand James Cleveland, Rev C. L. Franklin, Aretha Franklin, James Brown,
The Five Blind Boys, The Mills Brothers just to name a few.
-What is your musical background like?
My musical background consist of many styles of music from classical to
jazz to opera to choir arrangements along with the r&b, soul, funk.
All of these different styles helped me to record the theme song to a sucessful
television sitcom called "A Different World". That versatillty
help me to do background vocals on recordings with the likes of B.B. King,
Bonnei Raitt, Taj Mahal, Dr. John, Boys ll Men, Della Reese. This also
lead up to my own recordings and sound trks to The Lion King, the television
movie "The Ditchdiggers Daughter".
-When did you start as a professional?
I started as a professional in 1970.
-Tell me about Citations.
The Citations was a group that we formed in high school in 1973 in Highland
Park Michigan a small city inside of Detroit. We were friends that grew
up together and we loved music. We sang in the school choirs and the church
choirs. The members were Clayton Hooker, Sean Brown, Walter and Nathaniel
Jones and Terrence Forsythe. We had our first recording in 1976 called
" Inspiration of my life" and next was "Mercy Mercy".
The group went their own ways after 10 years.

-Tell me about the Voisez.
Voisez came together in 2003 in Las Vegas with 3 former members of the
Citations and we were working with the Temptation Review and formed our
own group along with doing our own projects. I at the time had released
the cd "Shout Good News".
-Is there artists or producers you would like to collaborate with?
The producer that would like to work with would be the likes of Babyface,
Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones Prince, Paul McCartney, Phil Collin just to
name a few.
-What do you think about the US music scene and the music industry nowadays?
I think that life is a cycle and the music scene is the same way so it
will return back to good true honest wholesome songs in time. That is why
I think you will always have what they call Old School because we need
that value that songs had back in the day. I still say that the truth in
gret songs can not be denied and there is such a big market out there to
fulfill.
-Are you planning any releases or recordings?
Yes ! There is a Christmas cd being manufactored as we speak and will be
available very soon and after that the gospel cd will follow and the r&b,hiphop
and soul will comeplete the first three for the upcoming year.
-Would you like to say something to your fans?
I would like to say Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart
and I hope that my music blesses you in a mighty way. I hope that ithe
music will always inspire and encourage people to trust in God and live
the truth. I love you all and May God continue to Bless you...
Sincerly Terrence Forsythe
