The Chestnut Brothers (Al & Ty) are a very talented singing, song writing, and production team born in Columbia, SC and were raised in Philadelphia, PA. They have recorded with internationally well-known artists, such as Grover Washington, Jr., Luther Vandross and so on. They have released their own singles and albums and have been performing for about thirty years.

In 1969, Al joined the the U.S. Navy, and recording as a soloist, Ty released a single entitled "The Bump" on the Mercury distributed subsidiary Intrepid label.

In 1972, as "The Chestnut Tree," they released "Super Lovin'" on Melba Records. Based on such strong reaction, they were signed to Paramount Records and Super Lovin' was rereleased on Paramount, accordingly.

In 1983, "Sweet Little Rita" was released as a 12" single on Street Level Records, out of Montreal. Other breaks followed, including, being featured as lead vocalists on three tracks on the "Groovin" album by "Missing Links," which was released on MCA Records. Their stellar performances can be heard on "Groovin,' " "Walk On By" and a Sly Stone medley of "Everyday People/Thank You (FA LETTIN' ME BE MICE ELF AGIN)."

In 1990, they changed their name to "Brotherly Love" and created a sensation internationally, on the independent soul scene with the release of "Whole Lotta You In Me" on Skyline Records. Featuring a guest appearance by Grover Washington, Jr. (on soprano sax), the danceable tune garnered enormous popularity in the U.K., Europe and Japan and became a modern soul classic.

Since their "Whole Lotta", we had been eagerly waiting for their full album. In 1993 they released their album entitled "Brotherly Love". The contemporary R&B with the brothers trading off vocals made many soul fans so excited.
