Left to Right: Al, Abdul, and Ty Chestnut
ABDUL CHESTNUT

Abdul Chestnut is CEO and Founder of "Abdul 215 Entertainment". He started in the music business as a wanna be rapper/producer. He entered the music business in 1992 as a guest vocalist on the demo for The Chestnut Brothers' song "Brotherly Love". After that He kind of got hooked and in 1993 he started producing and managing local Philadelphia artist.  That was an interesting task for him.  Dealing with the different personalities and clashes of managing several people, he stepped away from it. He took a few years off to evaluate what he wanted to do.

So, with the knowledge and schooling that Abdul received from Al & Ty Chestnut, he started Abdul  Entertainment in July of 1999.  His Company was  functioning  as a Marketing, Promotions and Distribution Company for "Bishop James H. Mortom/With My Whole Heart" and  the late "Minister Dirk Chaney/God Is Great".  Minister Chaney was the one who influenced and persuaded Abdul to get into gospel music.

In 2001, Abdul released his first project as a recording company, which was "La'Trese" and that cd is also available on Cdbaby.com. After that project he decided to get into gospel music. That brings him to his current project "Peace Suite" by The Chestnut Brothers.

La'Trese comes from a musical family, headed by her Father, internationally renowned bassist Tony Jones. She has been on stage professionally since she was a child.

She's an accomplished and versatile performer and songwriter (she penned all but one of the 11 songs on her album). Her CD is versatile, there's romantic R&B ballads, melodic Jazz flows and street funk.

Her album is being received both in the states and overseas.  "Abdul 215 Entertainment" is an independent label that is taking the overseas market by storm with its quality releases.  Although she is signed to an independent label, her album is produced in a major way.  It definitely stacks up to any major label.  The benefit of her strolling with Abdul 215 Entertainment, apposed to a major label; La'Trese was able to have complete artisic control. And as you can see she exploited her talents by writing  basically the entire album and contributed with the production as well.
